Postdoctoral Positions Available

We are seeking up to three highly creative and motivated Postdoctoral Research Associates to join the Machine Learning Group in the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge, UK, working with Professor Zoubin Ghahramani. The group is one of the world’s leading centres for Bayesian statistical Machine Learning and successful candidates will be expected to have a strong publication record in this field.

Particular areas of interest include: Bayesian nonparametrics, approximate inference, probabilistic language modelling, and time-series models.

All positions are available now and can start as soon as the successful applicant is appointed.

The successful applicant will have or be near completing a PhD in computer science, engineering, probability, statistics or a related area, and will have extensive research experience and a strong publication record in statistics, probability, or machine learning.

Dan Roy receives dissertation award

Dan Roy‘s PhD dissertation, “Computability, inference and modeling in probabilistic programming”, has been selected as a winner of a MIT/EECS Sprowls Award, recognizing it as one of the best dissertations in Computer Science at MIT in 2011.

Simon Lacoste-Julien awarded Research in Paris grant

Simon Lacoste-Julien has been awarded a prestigious Research in Paris grant, and will take up further post-doctoral studies with Francis Bach in the SIERRA project team located in the joint INRIA/CNRS/Ecole Normale Superieure computer science laboratory, starting on September 1st 2011.

Andrew Gordon Wilson wins UAI Best Student Paper

Frederik Eaton wins AISTATS Notable Paper Award
