Based on a large interest for the summer school in previous years, we expect to receive more applications than there are places available. The application deadline is June 1, 2009; letters of recommendation should be submitted by June 11, 2009; decisions will be emailed by the end of June.

The Application Process
On the application page, you will be asked to provide the following information: Every applicant will be evaluated on her/his academic background. We ask the applicants to submit a curriculum vitae in pdf format.
During the summer school there will be an opportunity for all attendees to present some of their own research work to other participants and lecturers. Your application should contain a tentative title and abstract for a poster presentation.
Every application needs to be supported by a referee (advisor, supervisor, manager). The application requires the name, email and affiliation of this referee. Please confirm that the referee agrees to write a recommendation for you before you enter a name and address.

Travel Support
We have a limited number of scholarships to cover travel and/or registration expenses. These will be awarded preferably to accepted applicants who would not be otherwise able to attend (e.g. from developing countries, or departments with limited travel budgets). Acceptance to the summer school will be judged independently of financial need.
If you decide to apply for financial support, we will ask to provide an estimate of the amount required. Additionally, your referee must provide a paragraph in their letter of recommendation justifying the need for financial support.
